또한 동지역사회보장협의체의 주요 역할은 도움이 필요한 이웃을 찾는 복지사각지대의 발굴과 실질적 지원을 확대하기 위한 자원의 개발과 연계의 역할이다. 차세대 사회보장정보시스템의 상용과 함께 동지역사회보장협의체 위원의 역할 강화 등 사람과 함께하는 정보 전달체계에 대한 고민도 필요하다.
